Strategy changes?

You’re throwing SI rankings at me? Those are not facts, brother.

If we take Evans at 19, I will kick kittens.

is kicking kittens a good thing?

Zach Martin is a ridiculous beast. I would call him easily the best guard in the league. To compare him as equals to those two is silly.

well there are alot of silly people that agree that there are other good guards in the league… if not on his level… they are close.

I’m going to let you have this one (although I completely disagree) , but give me another example of this lack of going deep in the draft to get the same talent.

I dont discuss things to win… or let me have it… its just good cowboys football talk man. i like hearing other peoples views.

Ok another example… why take elliot at pick 4 over all when i said before the draft henry would be there in the second or jordan howard in the third… now we are talking 4th over all pick… to me that is a guy that you see being with your team for his entire career. I also said if somehow we miss out on getting a good rb… that the next two classes would be loaded… and it was and is again this year.

we already seen what happened with murry and this oline… a really good rb looked elite… i love some d murry but he was never elite… he sure looked like it with the oline we had… but darn sure didnt with the eagles. And he was somewhere in between with the titans.

Elliot is a good player… but when you have the best oline in football do you really have to take a rb at pick 4 to run the ball… wouldnt we be better served to get some defensive help? And still take a rb in the second or third round that would have about the same production…

In my original post, I said outside of RB, because RB is a flux position that is hard to translate to the NFL level. Give me another example.

Also, I believe Zeke way better than Henry or espacally Howard. With Howard it isn’t even close to me.

well funny you would say that about howard who had almost the same numbers as elliot did as rookies and didnt even start the first four games… look it up… ill also add that howard plays on a far less talented team as far as skill positions and the oline isnt even close.

|Player|Broken Tackles|Touches|Broken Tackle Pct|

|David Johnson, Cardinals|21|57|37%|
|DeAngelo Williams, Steelers|18|79|23%|
|Todd Gurley, Rams|17|66|26%|
|Carlos Hyde, 49ers|14|64|22%|
|Matt Forte, Jets|14|76|18%|
|Eddie Lacy, Packers|13|45|29%|
|Theo Riddick, Lions|13|44|30%|
|DeMarco Murray, Titans|13|58|22%|
|Charles Sims, Buccaneers|13|38|34%|
|Ezekiel Elliot, Cowboys|11|76|14%|
|Shane Vereen, Giants|11|39|28%|

as you can see elliot is the bottom of broken tackles… to me if elliot is an elite talent worthy of a number 4 pick he should be atop the list… or at least close… not bottom…

Hunt a third rounder had way more broken tackles…

I had rather my RB avoid contact and not have to break tackles. That’s what made Sanders elite. And, Zeke is damn good at making people miss.

also elliot had 26 runs where he was not touched unitil he was 4 yards past the los… the next best rb had 12…
which explains why alfred morris a guy who doesnt have a job averaged more yards per carry then did elliot.

I dont see elliot make many miss… a normal zeke play he runs through a wide open hole … makes contact with a lb … drives them a yard and falls down… pretty good… but elite?

you made a comment about something being silly… well i think mentioning barry sanders and elliot in the same sentence is silly… Barry is elite… and not only that… two totally different styles.

This just supports my point. Don’t think for a minute that is all the OL. Did you watch Emmitt run? His shift before the line of scrimmage was unrivaled.

I also remember emmitt taking the team on his back when things where not going good… when the oline wasn’t opening holes emmit found a way. when our oline isnt at its best elliot doesnt do that… he pouts…
